Stella proudly shows MRA her bank account
Stella proudly shows MRA her “bank account” as she fondly refers to her goats.  Stella is living with HIV/AIDS and a MRA recipient of two goats.  After two years, she now has sixteen goats which provide milk and fertilizer. Occasionally she sells one at the local market in order to pay school fees or buy critical medicines to prolong her life.

You too can Gift-a-Goat to a family for only $50, markedly improving their quality of life!  To give a goat, in your name or in the name of someone you love, please send your $50 contribution to our address found on the contact page or visit our paypal link. .
New Maternity Beds Fill Hospitals in Transmara District, Kenya
In November almost $70,000 worth of donated medical supplies and equipment arrived in the Transmara District of Kenya.  MRA’s largest shipment to-date contained over 67 modern hospital beds, allowing six facilities to replace rusty, decrepit beds, and fill empty maternity wards.  These facilities serve over 60,000 Kenyans.

The Kenyan Minister of Immigration, Hon. Gideon Konchella, visited MRA’s recipient hospitals and was quoted in the press praising the donation; “These are the best hospital beds in the whole country.  May MRA and Kenya continue to work together.”

MRA serves hundreds at World AIDS Day 2006
MRA was proud to celebrate its third World AIDS Day on December 1, 2006 in Kenya.  Our health fares provided screening to over 800 individuals.  Additionally, MRA’s Voluntary Mobile HIV/AIDS testing visit enabled 23 newly identified HIV positive cases to enroll in anti-retroviral treatments, prolonging their lives indefinitely.
NYU MPA Graduate Students Assess MRA Programs in Kenya
In March 2006 MRA staff and a team of NYU Public Administration graduate students traveled to Kenya to evaluate MRA’s medical supply and equipment donation program.

Their final assessment was based on site visits to the local clinics, interviews with the staff and the community members which are served.  The team found that the items MRA donates are essential for equipping local facilities with the capacity to provide critical healthcare and life-saving services and reach those who are most in need.
