Volunteer

MRA is a volunteer run organization. The founders, board and volunteers do not receive compensation, we are able to reduce our administrative and overhead costs to under 10% of every dollar we receive. That is, over 90% goes directly to our operations and programs in Kenya!

We are therefore always in need of dedicated, talented and extraordinary volunteers like yourself to assist with:

  • Going to Africa for Medical Missions.

The many needs of the people we help provide great opportunities for medical professionals including Doctors, Nurses, Nurse Tutors, Pre-Meds and Medical Students to further our works in Kenya.

  • Packing our containers with medical supplies and equipment.

MRA Africa can always use patient hands and nimble fingers to assist in ensuring essential supplies reach their intended patients.

  • Special events to fundraise for our programs.

Volunteers are frequently needed to help-out at fundraisers, to perform a wide range of tasks; whether setting up, acting as door staff or soliciting donations from attendees, fundraisers are an important aspect of MRA’s activities in the US.

  • Short and long term field evaluators to travel to Kenya to assess the impact of our programming.
  • Social networking experts to spread the word about our work.

What can be the simplest act of volunteering is simply to pass along information about MRA and our projects throughout your social networks. Just by telling a few other people in your social network can create massive ripples of goodwill. Read More…

  • Administrative tasks.

Nowadays you don’t even have to be in the same city, the same country or even on the same continent as MRA to volunteer and help. Many administrative tasks can be performed at home, remotely, whether helping edit Blog posts, proof-reading proposals or simple data-entry.

  • Grantwriting and development to assist us fund our future initiatives.

If you have experience in grant-writing and great communication skills, we would love to hear from you. A charity such as ours relies on the donations of others, and a well-written grant can act as a lifeline for hundreds- if not thousands of people.
